The IM4000PLUS Ion Milling System utilizes a broad, low-energy Ar+ ion beam milling
method to produce wider, undistorted cross-section milling or flat milling, without
applying mechanical stress to the sample. Additional capabilities such as the air
protection system, low-temperature cold block, and LN2 cooling unit equipped versions
are available for processing heat-sensitive materials or materials susceptible to
oxidation. High-quality and damage-less cross-section or milled surfaces help to
improve surface observation quality for microscopy imaging and analysis.
The IM4000 Plus Series Ion-Milling Systems are the second-generation IM4000 series
hybrid instruments supporting Cross-Section Milling and Flatmilling®. A wide variety
